Starting from / returning to Nairobi

Starts Nairobi/Ends Nairobi – We’ll pick you up from the International Airport, your hotel or residence and transfer to nearby Wilson Airport for your morning flight.

Imagine the world famous Masai Mara Game Reserve less than an hour away. You’ll begin your holiday in quick comfort with an easy flight from Nairobi. Natural World Kenya Safaris will make all the arrangements – you only have to relax and enjoy beautiful Kenya from the air. In no time, you’ll touch down at the Mara and start your safari in a private customized pop top 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep.

The Masai Mara is the ultimate Kenya and East Africa park. Renowned for its vast acacia accented savannahs, the Mara is most famous for witnessing the great migration. This is the largest movement of wildlife on the planet with a flood of over a million wildebeest, zebra and impala seeking fresh vegetation after the rains.

Throughout your 4-day safari you’ll be treated to multiple game viewing drives. Be on the lookout for Africa’s Big Five game as the park is famous for hosting these large predators. In addition to lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino, there will be opportunities to view cheetah, hyena and jackal.

Then, take in the vast herds of the great migration which you can safely observe from your private 4 x 4  Safari Jeep. This great swath of wildebeest and zebra cross the Mara River, braving the awaiting crocodile. All the elements of a life and death drama occur here as the cycle of nature unfolds again and again. No one who has witnessed the river crossing can ever forget it (July to October)

There will be other opportunities to experience the varied wildlife of the Mara such as guided game walks (optional). Here you can get closer to the smaller animals and enjoy the varied birdlife that blankets the reserve.

The Maasai people have inhabited these lands for eons. You can enjoy an optional visit to one of their villages to learn first-hand about their cattle-raising culture (optional ). And, for spectacular views of the savannah and its immense population of wildlife, treat yourself to a hot air balloon ride for incredible vistas.

On day 4 of your fly in safari , there will be two additional game drives – before and after breakfast, prior to your quick flight back to Nairobi.

All-Inclusive. Your 4-Day Nairobi- Maasai Mara air safari includes roundtrip flights, park entrance fees, game drives, accommodations, meals and hotel – airport transfers.

Natural World Kenya Safaris always offers you the most in choice and flexibility. You can even customize the cost of your safari, depending on your choice of season, the number of travelers in your party, and your pick of accommodation. Depending on your style or budget, choose from  comfort or luxury safari lodges or tented camps.

But it’s important to know… whatever level of accommodation you choose, your actual safari adventure with us will always be at our highest standards.

Nairobi – Masai Mara

Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner

7:00 hrs. – We’ll pick you up at your hotel, residence, the Nairobi airport, or the location of your choice for the short ride to Wilson Airport.

You’ll board your plane for the approximately one-hour scenic flight to the Masai Mara.

Taking to the air, you’ll have a stunning vantage point over the sprawling Kenyan landscape. Along your route, look for the iconic form of Mt. Kilimanjaro and the dramatic escarpment of the Great Rift Valley.

You’ll land mid-morning at the Mara airstrip and be welcomed by your Natural World Kenya Safaris guide in a private, open-top 4 x 4 Safari Jeep.

Heading for your safari lodge or tented camp, enjoy your first short game drive in the great reserve. Settle in, refresh, and get ready for lunch.

At lunch, your guide will tell you about the park, its wildlife, and the different areas you can choose to visit.

The Masai Mara is the richest ecosystem in the region, filled with predators and grazers. There are many prides of lions here, plus leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and other carnivores.

So get ready for your first big game drive as you rumble over the Mara’s hills and plains, past the signature acacia trees – a well-known symbol of Africa and the great park.

For the next four days, you’ll create your own game-viewing schedule. You can go for unlimited drives or take time out to relax at your accommodation. The choice is yours.

Note: For those guests staying at conservancies who wish to travel to the Mara triangle area to view the Great Migration river crossings, there is an $80 per person surcharge.

After a busy day of travel and game viewing, it’s time to rest and enjoy dinner at your safari lodge or tented campground.

Full Day – Masai Mara

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

When on safari we like to get up with the sun to watch its gold light spread over the fields. It’s a great time for game viewing as it is cool and the wildlife is just emerging into the awakening day.

The Masai Mara is home to all of Africa’s ‘Big Five’ – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. But there are many other mammal species in the great park – over 95.

Should you be visiting the Mara during the Great Migration season (July – October), get ready to witness a virtual flood of wildlife crossing over the Mara River from the neighboring Serengeti. Tens of thousands of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelle pour into the park on their annual trek searching for higher grasses.

Rest up from your full day of game drives at your lodging.

Full Day – Masai Mara

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

You’re getting into the rhythms and lifestyle of the safari life. Discuss with your guide your plan for the day. What areas of the reserve have you not yet seen? Which wildlife would you like to see more of?

There are other aspects of the park that will enhance your experience here. Take an optional visit to one of the local Maasai villages. You’ll get to meet these indigenous people and learn about their culture close up. Just ask your guide to make the arrangements.

Have you ever done a sky safari? For the ultimate Mara adventure, take an optional pre-dawn hot air balloon flight over the park. You’ll rise with the sun, literally, as below, the reserve comes alive with the light and wildlife. A never-to-be-forgotten adventure. Your guide can handle all the details.

Another busy safari day. Rest up and enjoy dinner at your accommodation.

Masai Mara – Nairobi

Meal Plan: Breakfast

Our fourth and final day – let’s pack in an early morning game drive to your favorite spots in the park. You’re now experienced safari-goers and can speak with some knowledge about the wildlife and the reserve.

We’ll head back to our accommodation for a big breakfast to fortify us for the final game drive and the flight back.

Soon it’s time to pack into our 4 x 4 Jeep for our last drive through the park on the way to the airstrip.

Let’s settle into our plane and take a final look at the Mara as we climb above its scenic hills and rivers.

Our short flight back to Nairobi will again take us over the striking Kenya landscape – a final reminder of all that we’ve experienced these past four days.

We should touch down at Wilson Airport in Nairobi around 12:45 hrs.  One of our representatives will meet you for the transfer back to your hotel, residence, or place of your choosing.

Four days and so many game drives through the world’s premier natural wildlife reserve. How many can say they’ve done what you have? We’re glad we had the opportunity to show you the best of Africa. On behalf of the team at Natural World Kenya Safaris, thank you for your time and for placing your trust in us. See you soon!
