Attractions and Activities

Nairobi National Park

Black and white rhinoceros; diverse birdlife; large predators such as lion, leopard, hyena and cheetah; large herbivores such as eland, buffalo, zebra and wildebeest; ivory burning site monument; walking trails at hippo pools; Nairobi safari walk and opharnage; spacious picnic sites.

David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage

Welcome to another amazing afternoon at the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage located in Nairobi National Park. When you visit Nairobi, Kenya, you now know where to make your first stop.

Crowds regularly line up to enjoy this feeding time phenomenon at one of Nairobi’s most popular attractions. The orphanage is the most successful elephant orphan rescue and rehabilitation program in the world.

Giraffe Center

For 40 years, the Centre has saved and restored the population of this endangered sub-species of giraffe. At the same time, it has provided opportunities for its millions of visitors to be delighted and informed about these special creatures.

The Karen Blixen Museum

Step back in time to view artifacts of Blixen’s world of colonial elegance and her legendary romance with the English big-game hunter, Denys Finch Hatton. Here you will see personal objects that belonged to Blixen and Finch Hatton, including a lantern that Karen hung on the veranda to let her lover know that she was home… waiting for him.

Guided tours will introduce you to the house, the gardens and the life that Blixen shared with her husband Baron Bror Blixen-Finecke and later, with her lover, Finch Hatton. The home is a perfect example of colonial bungalow architecture with its sweeping verandahs and expansive rooms.

Kiambethu Tea Farm

Kiambethu Tea Farm, the exact spot where tea growing began in Kenya 100 years ago. A trip to this beautiful tea plantation is your opportunity to enjoy the grounds and learn about the history of Kenya tea farming and colonial life here in the Ngong Hills.

As befitting this elegant locale, you’ll be greeted upon arrival with a cup of tea and learn the history of the farm. You’ll also get an introduction to the process of cultivating tea and then step outside to see for yourself the deep green rows of tea growing in the fields.

Bomas of Kenya

Welcome to Bomas of Kenya – a rich panorama of Kenya’s many cultures presented in dance and music. It also offers visitors the opportunity to explore outdoor reproductions of the country’s traditional homesteads… “bomas” in the Kiswahili language.

Sometimes called “Kenya in miniature”, the village is a display of the traditional building styles from 23 of Kenya’s more than 40 ethnic groups. Adjoining the outdoor bomas is one of the largest auditoriums in Africa.
