What an easy way to discover two of Kenya’s finest national parks on this private 3-day safari. Enjoy a night at each reserve while tracking Africa’s largest wildlife. Tsavo East is our biggest game reserve and Amboseli Park features all the famous Big Five. Plus, it lies at the foot of the continent’s grandest summit, legendary Mt. Kilimanjaro. There’s so much to explore on this short safari and quick getaway from the city. Just give us a call or email and we’ll have you on your own private adventure right away.

The size and scope of Tsavo East National Park may seem endless in this immense and historic reserve. The terrain is rugged and expansive, holding within its broad plains, elephant, buffalo, leopard and lion. At the park’s busy watering holes, we’ll also be looking for zebra, giraffe, antelope, ostrich, warthog and many other species gathering for the life-giving waters.

Amboseli National Park is one of Kenya’s most popular reserves, nestled at the foot of imposing Mt. Kilimanjaro, the largest free-standing mountain in the world. Here you’ll find imposing herds of elephants marching before the snow-capped summit in a photographer’s paradise. The population of elephants is so massive here, you’re guaranteed sightings in this smaller but extremely lively reserve. Our game drives through these parks will keep you busy tracking the wildlife and should you have any special preferences, just let us know so we can personalize your African safari.

Nairobi – Tsavo East National Park: (320 km:  5 Hrs drive)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

06:00 hrs. – Your driver/guide will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel, residence or Nairobi airport.

We’ll head out in our 4 x 4 Jeep for Tsavo East on the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway also known as the early explorer’s route.

We’ll spend our first day at Tsavo East on game drives, exploring great stretches of grassland and savannah seeking out large and small wildlife – hunters and grazers. The big predators are here but so are other delightful species like gerenuk, impala and Masai giraffe.

The park’s light foliage makes game spotting easier plus the hundreds of species of birdlife all about are a bright mix of color and variety. Look for the crowned crane, lovebird and sacred ibis.

Another treat of this park is the red-dust elephants. The soil here is composed of a reddish iron oxide in which the elephants like to roll, giving themselves an eye-catching coat of red that you can’t miss.

We’ll spend our first safari night at Tsavo East, at your choice of lodge or tented camp.

Tsavo East- Amboseli: (300km – Approx. 5-6 hrs)

Meal plan:Breakfast,lunch,dinner

We like to arise early while on safari for the beauty of the dawning day and to watch nature come alive, as the wildlife emerges.

After this early morning game drive, we’ll enjoy a safari breakfast at our accommodation. Then, one last game drive at Tsavo East before we depart for the majesty of Kilimanjaro and Amboseli Park.

You’ll be able to trace your route to the park by the looming appearance of the great mountain standing over Amboseli like an ever-present guardian. Under its watchful gaze marches a wonderful collection of free-ranging elephants that fill the reserve.

But also look for the park’s smaller treasures like foxes, monkeys, and baboons. And at its marshes and lakes, you’ll see a delightful assortment of birdlife like pelicans, kingfishers, egrets, and herons.

Come evening the cloud cover sometimes obscuring Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped summit burns off, revealing one of Africa’s most dazzling sights.

Our second safari night will be in Amboseli at your choice of accommodation.

Amboseli – Nairobi (250 km: Approx. 3-4 hrs)

Meal plan:Breakfast,lunch

Once again, we’ll hop into our 4 x 4 Jeep for an early morning game drive to witness Amboseli’s dawning wildlife. Early morning views of Mt. Kilimanjaro can also be breathtaking.

We’ll enjoy breakfast but let’s not linger as we can enjoy an extra mid-morning game drive through the park. We’ll look for those species we haven’t yet spotted and add them to our list as we complete our safari.

We’ll break for lunch and then journey back to Nairobi. We should arrive in the late afternoon around 16:30 hrs. (4:30 pm).

We’ll drop you off at your hotel, residence or the airport.

You’ve got lots of memories now and perhaps photos to sort through as a souvenir of your 3-day African safari. We hope you enjoyed your time exploring Tsavo East and Amboseli. Next time you’re ready to safari, let Natural World Kenya Safaris arrange that special adventure. From all of us, a big thanks to you!
